Digitized Manuscripts

The handwritten manuscripts housed in the Archives are invaluable and irreplaceable spiritual and historical documents. A main purpose of the Inspirationist Archive project is to digitize as many of these often-fragile manuscripts as possible. Digitizing preserves the original manuscripts and also makes them more accessible to a wider audience. Digitizing is an ongoing process (there are more than 50,000 pages of 18th Century manuscripts in the Archives); newly digitized manuscripts will be placed online as they become available. more...

Manuscript digitizing is done in the Archive, using a Canon EOS T6 camera body/Canon 50mm macro lens mounted on a Kaiser copy stand, modified to accommodate oversize manuscripts.

To view and/or download a digitized manuscript, follow these instructions:

    • A manuscript title preceded by a down-arrow is a large file that must be downloaded to your computer before you can open and view it. Click the manuscript name and follow the on-screen download instructions. (Depending on the capacity of your local internet connection, some of the larger files make take several minutes to download. But you need to download a file only one time.)
    • A manuscript title preceded by a horizontal arrow is a smaller file that you can click to view without needing to download it first. Click the manuscript name to open the file.
    • You also can click on a thumbnail image to see just a sample page of the manuscript.
